Outdoor cultivation in northern latitudes presents a challenge because autumn frost can arrive before late-flowering varieties are ready. Many gardeners rely on indica seeds precisely because the plants tend to finish in September or early October, well ahead of the first cold snap. Dense flower structure does raise the risk of bud rot in wet climates, so airflow and site selection matter. Choosing a sunny, well-drained spot offsets much of that risk.
