Foot Clinic/Podiatry

Cameron L. Acor DPM (Podiatry).  Dr. Acor visits us from Northern Montana Health Care of Havre, MT and is involved with wound care; general podiatric work of heel pain, orthotics, ingrown nails and callous care; surgical procedures such as forefoot bunions, hammertoes, metatarsal and digital fractures, endoscopic plantar fasciotomy, and mid-foot fusions.  He also has worked with diabetic foot infections and vacuum therapy.  If you need to schedule an appointment, call 406-265-7831.


Audiology - Sharlene Schmidt, M.S. is currently licensed in audiology and hearing aid dispensing. Comprehensive hearing tests in a sound treated booth are performed.  After patients are tested and diagnosed with a hearing impairment, a hearing aid may be recommended.  Sharlene works with all types of hearing aids and can assess, repair and clean them.  She travels to Malta on a monthly basis for provision of services.  For an appointment, please call the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital at 1-800-322-3634 or 406-228-3500 extension 3655.


Winkley Women's Center in Kalispell, MT.  Phillips County Hospital and Family Health Clinic is fortunate to partner with the "Winkley Women's Center" mobile coach to provide digital mammography, ultrasound and bone density scanning right here in Malta.  The 45-foot mobile coach contains state-of-the-art equipment, providing quality imaging services to nine different Central Montana communities.  A licensed mammography technician provides mammography clinics once a month in Malta.  Benefits include personalized service, with NO waiting lists or long lines.  Call 406-654-1100  extension 5141 and ask to schedule an appointment.

Sleep Study

Sleep is not just a quality-of-life issue.  Chronic sleep deprivation and poor sleep quality pose serious risks to your health.  One of the biggest concerns is obstructive sleep apnea, which has been strongly linked with high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, stroke and heart attack.  Phillips County Hospital provides sleep study services with the help of technicians and Dr. Roy Kohler at Central Montana Medical Center in Lewistown, MT.   After obtaining a referral from your healthcare provider you can call 406-654-1100 ext 5160 to set up an appointment.

General Surgery

Dr. Crochelt has been staffed with FMDH since 2015. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Crochelt has been a delight to have on staff here in Glasgow, and has decided to even offer his talents to the patients at Phillips County Hospital.Dr. Crochelt will be traveling to Malta at the Phillips County Hospital Clinic 1 day a month beginning in February 2016.

Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Smith has been on staff with FMDH since February of 2015. She has over 20 years of experience. Dr. Smith is a physician specializing in OB/GYN located at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital.


Phillips County Hospital, in partnership with The HealthCenter/Kalispell Regional Healthcare, is proud to offer MRI services to our community.  We began providing Mobile MRI services in November 2019. The Mobile MRI scanner will be here every other Friday. 

The scanner is a new state-of-the-art 1.5T MRI scanner.  It will be provide MRI services with the highest quality and greatest diagnostic capability available for our patients here in Malta. The new, high-channel, MRI scanner provides exceptional overall image quality in all areas of interest.  Also, the larger bore size provides for superior patient comfort.
